Mosby Architect Bob Lutz is a Certified Green Professional
April 15th, 2008
We are proud to announce that our project architect Robert Lutz, AIA is now a Certified Green Professional (CGP). This new National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) designation was introduced February 2008, making Lutz among the first in the country, one of 4 in the state of Missouri and the first and only CGP in the greater St. Louis area.
“We know green is the future of building and remodeling,” said NAHB president Brian Catalde. “With this designation, we’re helping our qualified members demonstrate to their clients that the future is here.”
The designation is earned by completing the NAHB’s training and education sessions covering topics that include:
● using green-building principals without driving up constructions cost
● providing homeowners with lower energy costs and higher value
● indoor air quality
● sustainability & energy efficiency
CGP candidates must also complete a University of Housing management course, continuing education requirements and adhere to a code of ethics. Mosby is especially pleased with the CGP Code of Ethics because it echoes our own standards:

This is an appropriate culmination of the decades Lutz has dedicated to green architecture. He has long been a respected advocate and designer of energy conscious custom homes in our area, and for 8 years taught “Architecture & Energy” at Washington University’s School of Architecture.
With this designation, Bob Lutz and Mosby Building Arts become the official place you can turn to for all your green remodeling questions and solutions. Homeowners who incorporate green remodeling into their projects can enjoy lower utility bills, greater comfort, healthier indoor air, reduced maintenance, fewer moisture problems and increased value.
Many of the green principles such as energy efficient windows, sustainable siding, passive solar and improved insulation systems have long been a standard Mosby practice, so we’re proud to formalize our commitment to sound and logical remodeling practices that benefit homeowners and the environment.
